Helen Ruth Kitson Herwig, 99, of Loveland, Colorado made her journey into heaven on Thursday, October 8, 2020.
Helen was born on June 11, 1921 in Avoca, Iowa. She married Vernon L. Herwig on October 21, 1943. They spent almost 70 years together before Vernon passed in April, 2013. Fort Dodge, Iowa was their home until Vernon retired from Land O'Lakes and they moved to Loveland, Colorado residing in the latter years at Good Samaritan Village.
Helen had a servant heart and volunteered her time to helping others. She always had a smile and will be missed by many.
Helen will be welcomed in heaven by her husband, Vernon, her parents and brother. She is survived by her daughters, son-in-laws and son; Sheryl (Dan) Hunter, Linda (John) Parks, Donna (Alan) Byrnes, and David Herwig; granddaughters; Jenifer Longworth, Erin (Corey) Wright and grandson, Josh Byrnes. Helen was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, Emerson and Elliot Wright.
A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later time.
