Irene Evans, 73, passed away peacefully, at home on Friday, June 4th, after a long illness. She was surrounded by her husband Wesley Evans, of 47 years, and family. Irene is the daughter of Joseph Collard (deceased) and Rose (Lavoie) Collard (deceased). In addition to her husband, Irene is survived by her children Eric Evans, of Longmont, CO, and Michael Evans, of Broomfield, CO. Her brother, George Collard, of Fall River, MA, her Granddaughter, Rose Marie Evans, several nieces and nephews and Godchildren.
Irene retired from Longmont United Hospital where she was employed for over two decades, as a Central Supply Supervisor. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend. Irene believed in helping those in need, which she did by serving as a Stephen Minister for several years, by donating to an abundance of charities, and by providing a forever home for many animals in need.
A Celebration of Irene’s life will be held on June 9th, from 2pm – 3pm at the Izaak Walton Clubhouse, located at 18 Sunset St, Longmont, CO 80501. In lieu of flowers, a perennial garden in Irene’s memory will be planted at her family home of more than 45 years, perennial donations welcome, or please donate in Irene’s honor to a charity of your choice.
