Jim D. DePriest, ended his adventures in this world on Dec. 5, 2023, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Like everything else in his life, he handled his cancer diagnosis, and his battle with the disease with stoic grace. He passed away too soon, at the age of 75, and will be DEARLY MISSED as a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and co-worker.

Jim had an insatiable appetite for knowledge and was an avid student on all subjects. He was well-read on so many topics that he was always consulted when family didn't have the answer--" Jim/dad will know". He often took inspiration from his reading to try new projects, hobbies or expand his knowledge of the areas he travelled. His memory for detail was another thing his family cherished and admired, and relied on.

Jim loved life and what it had to offer. He was very hard working both professionally when working for Halliburton Industrial, CEDA, H&R Block and others… and he loved working independently on tax preparation and his own projects of: gardening, beekeeping, reading non-stop, working in his shop, bridge and his "mens groups". He loved the people in his life and always generating new connections and savoring those he maintained his whole life, including friends from grade school to present.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, "Deke" and step-father, Robert Walker. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 48yrs, Carol, His children (3) and grandchildren (6). Jim left this world peacefully, and PROUD that he leaves behind a legacy of confident and capable children. HIs eldest son, Mike and wife Barb, with 3 grandchildren Jamie (9), Micah (7) and Marlo (5). His sole daughter, Jacey and husband Travers, grandsons Roark & Hagen (10) and youngest son, Patrick and his partner Belinda, and grandson Theo (6mo). He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Walker, his brother Michael (Kathy), sister-in -law, Kati Segerson (TJ) and step-sisters, Annie Davis and Laura Kay Briesmeister (Dick).

In honor of Jim's vibrant life, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Blue Mountain Mortuary in Longmont, CO is assisting with arrangements.
