Janice Evelyn Reeder, 80, of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on October 31, 2021 due to heart failure.
Jan was born on December 20, 1940 to Norman and Evelyn Raschke in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduating from Southeast High School in 1958, she went on to complete her Associates degree at Central Missouri State.
In 1960, she met Pat in Estes Park, Colorado, and they wed in 1961, going on to have three children, Bill, David and Karen. Jan and Pat lived in Fitchburg, MA; Okinawa; Bethesda, MD; Kailua, Hawaii; Anchorage, Alaska; Rockville, MD; Newport, RI; Aurora, CO; Ellicott City, MD; and finally settling in Westminster, CO in 1997.
Jan was incredibly passionate for serving others. She loved and was incredibly gifted at hosting family gatherings, parties and all holiday celebrations. She was always ready to give a warm embrace, an encouraging word and a bright smile, all which her family and friends will greatly miss. She loved traveling the world and spending time with Pat in their camper all over the US. Jan was a long-term member of Grace Commons Church (formerly First Presbyterian Church of Boulder) and attended Ascent Community Church in Louisville as well.
Jan was predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Don and Bill. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Patrick, her sons William and David, her daughter Karen, her daughter-in-law, Gail and her four grandchildren Joia, Leah, John and Jacob.
There will be a memorial service on November 20, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Grace Commons Church at 1820 15th St, Boulder, CO 80302.
