Jean Marie McEvoy (Bayer), passed away on March 1st 2021 at Berthoud Living Center surrounded by her husband, Gary and granddaughter Mariah at the time of her death.
Jean was born June 11th 1939 in Albany NY. Jean was raised in Dundee NY. She graduated from Dundee High school in 1957. With several scholarships, Jean attended Rochester school of nursing and graduated from Rochester Northside Hospital in 1960 where she also met her husband Gary John McEvoy during her senior year. Jean started her career at Newark Wayne community hospital, Newark, NY and later relocated to Loveland CO where she had spent the rest of her career at Mckee Medical Center until retiring in 2000.
Jean married Gary John McEvoy on September 17th, 1960 in Ontario NY. After marriage, Gary and Jean resided in Williamson NY and had two sons, Randy in 1961 and Daniel in 1968. As a family they relocated to Loveland CO in 1973. While pursuing her career Jean obtained her BSN from Saint Joseph’s college.
Aside from nursing, Jean enjoyed crocheting, knitting, baking, and country music (specifically Dwight Yoakam). She enjoyed teaching line dancing for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Gary, Son Randy of Longmont, CO, Grandchildren Robert (Kat) Martine-McEvoy of Phoenix, AZ, Jonathan (Nicole) McEvoy, Matthew McEvoy, and Mark McEvoy, all of Loveland CO, Mariah (Jacob) Becker of Greeley, CO, Jordan McEvoy of Florence, AZ. She was preceded in death by her son Daniel McEvoy in 2013.
