Jeffrey “Jeff” Paul Absmeier was born on April 20, 1952 to Carl J. Absmeier and Patricia (Carpenter) Absmeier in Holyoke, Colorado. He passed away, at the age of 68, on January 30, 2021 in Berthoud, Colorado.
Jeff attended Holyoke schools, graduating from Holyoke High School with the class of 1970. He then attended Adams State College from 1970 to 1972. He married Debbie (Millage) Absmeier on September 21, 1973. This union was blessed with three children, Izak, Benjamin, and Billie Dee.
Jeff farmed in Holyoke, Colorado from 1977 to 2005. Jeff retired from farming in 2005 and moved to Firestone, Colorado, and then eventually to Berthoud, Colorado. Jeff was an avid fisherman and sportsman throughout his life and took great joy in his wife, children, grandchildren, and friends. He also was a member of Club 25, Holyoke Gun Club, Pheasants Forever, Holyoke Golf Club, and the NRA.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Carl J. and Patricia Absmeier; sister, Patricia Main; brother, Stephen Absmeier; and brother, Carl F. Absmeier. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Debbie Absmeier of Berthoud, Colorado; son, Izak Absmeier and wife, Andrea, grandson, Riley Absmeier of Brighton, Colorado; son, Benjamin Absmeier and wife, Erin, grandson, Prewitt, granddaughter, Elliott of Commerce City, Colorado; daughter, Billie Dee Sprague and husband, Russell, granddaughters, Avarie, Olivia, and Emersyn of Fort Collins, Colorado; brother, David Absmeier of Clay Center, Kansas; sister-in-laws Lisa Absmeier of Alamosa, Colorado, and Cindy Absmeier of Clay Center, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette, Colorado. The inurnment will be a private service. Honorary Pallbearers are Adrian Absmeier, Dave Absmeier, Brad Brackhan, Jon Casey, Curtis Finch, Gary Fiscus, Mack Grammer, Gene Harmon, Ron Hubbard, Gary Krumm, Tom Lepore, Jim Ocken, and Kevin Sheehan.
