James Patrick Graham (Jim) was born on March 31, 1956 in Brush, CO the 4th of 7 children born to John and Thelma (Kramer) Graham. Jim passed away unexpectedly at his home on Oct 23rd, 2020. Jim graduated from Hi-Plains High School in 1974. He attended Morgan Community College enrolling in their auto mechanics program. He worked for Bud Hubbell as a hod carrier for brick laying, the Seibert Equity Coop and lastly for Sam Mersfelder, farming and raising cattle. While working for Sam he was able to live along the Republican River where he spent countless hours on his back steps watching the wildlife move up and down the river. Family was important to Jim and he never missed a family get together or turned down an invitation to a party, graduation or meal. Other special friends of Jim’s that he considered his family were Chris and Jan Michal and Luke and Tonya Strode. Jim was an avid hunter. He enjoyed antelope and deer hunting with his friends, Jay Johnson, Greg Cantu, Randy Manbeck, Chris Manbeck, Jimmy Chappel and his nephew Kevin Goodwin. It was the highlight of every year for him. It has meant a lot to his buddies that Jim was able to hunt antelope with them one last time in October. He was looking forward to opening day of deer season. He created a lasting friendship with these men. Jim had a blunt manner and he had no problem telling you what he thought. You never had to wonder where he stood on any issue. He kept his circle small and if you were included in that circle you had earned his respect, love and loyalty. Underneath that gruff exterior was a very big heart. Jim is preceded in death by his father John Graham, his brother Bob Graham and his grandparents; Charles and Elizabeth Graham and Jess and Irene Clark. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Thelma Graham, siblings, Doris (James) Leoffler, Gene Graham, Janette Graham, Cindy (Bill) Anderson, Ilene (Scott) Goodwin and nephews Robert, Eric (Amanda), Charlie, Kevin (Cydnee) and James (Marie), nieces, Amber (Jan), Melissa, Connie and Sarah, Aunt Elizabeth Graham, as well as 12 grand nieces and nephews. Many friends and cousins are left to remember his honest sense of humor. Memorials may be made to the Seibert Community Ambulance Services in Jim's memory and may be left at or sent to the High Plains Bank, PO Box 158, Flagler Colorado 80815.
