Joanne Kiteley of Broomfield, Colorado passed away on May 14, 2022. She was born in 1933 in Texas. Due to the nature of her father’s work in the oil industry,  the family moved many times. After graduating from High School in Casper, Wyoming, she attended Loretto Heights College in Denver and Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She met Tom Kiteley at CSU and they were married in 1952. They moved to the family farm northeast of Longmont where they raised their four children.

Joanne was involved in the farming community through work on the farm, membership in the Extension Club and 4-H. She taught her daughters to cook, bake, and sew. She kept her two inquisitive sons alive and whole through no fault of their own. She baked big batches of bread every week and made gallons of sweet chili sauce each year that we can still taste in our imaginations.

She got her Commercial Driver’s License and drove an 18-wheel truck. That lead to a career as a bus driver for RTD in Boulder. She was there for 21 years as a driver and trainer. She loved her RTD friends.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, her sister Mary Frances and husband Chuck Knoll, her son-in-law Bruce Overholt, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Kiteley(Patrick) of Longmont, Kelly Overholt of Albuquerque, Steven Kiteley (Cheryl) of Longmont and Timothy Kiteley (Mary) of Omaha, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
