John Clyde Sherwood October 21, 1963 – January 26, 2021

John Clyde Sherwood was born on October 21, 1963 and went to Heaven on January 26, 2021. John was known for his generous heart, sweet soul, and loving nature. Neighbors at his home in Longmont, CO recall fondly his many acts of kindness – cutting grass, bringing in trash cans, or simply visiting when they were ill or lonely. His gentle smile and exuberant personality would bring light to the cloudiest days.

John cared for his partner, Vickie through her hard-fought battle with cancer and missed her dearly. With unlimited charm and a gift for gab, John spent his career in the car business in California and the Denver area. His deep care for customers and expertise in both sales and finance made him a legend. One customer wrote, “John said he could ‘get the job done’ and he did. . . John is a funny guy and made me relax. . .I’ll be back.” John loved the beauty of Colorado, gardening, flowers, and the outdoors. He enjoyed visiting Estes Park and watching the elk each year. A life-long music fan (Gerry Garcia and tie-dye), another favorite haunt was the Red Rocks Amphitheater.

John is survived by mother Evalyn, father Samuel, brother James, sister Ann and his sweet “little dog” DeeDee. He will be greatly missed by dear friends, neighbors, and countless others who know and loved him. John’s family is planning a celebration of life in late spring, when the snow melts, trees bud, and wildflowers rise in the Colorado mountains. Please consider a gift to the Wild Animal Sanctuary (wildanimals.org) in lieu of flowers
