It is with sadness in our hearts that we inform friends and family of the passing of John J. Villareal II. John completed his journey Wednesday April 12, 2023.

John was born on December 23, 1981, at Holloman Air Force Base New Mexico to John J, and Alamar (Trevino) Villareal. As a child the family lived the military life in New Mexico then at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona finally settling in Milliken, Colorado. John attended schools in Milliken and Roosevelt High School. John, as a young man was very active in athletics.

After school he found a calling as a welder. He and his father traveled to Wyoming, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Montana to work in the oil and gas industry. After returning to Colorado, he continued to weld and pursue other avenues.

John married Afton Luna and they had two children, John Robert Able Villareal and Silvia Marie Villareal. John and Afton lost their precious daughter Sylvia at 6 months.

John is preceded by his grandparents, Robert S. Trevino and Aurelia Hinojos Trevino, his close cousin Manuel E. Trevino of Milliken, uncles Robert Trevino of California, Robert V. Trevino and Jose V. Trevino of Ft. Worth Texas

John is survived by his parents John and Alamar Villareal, sisters Jennifer and Jessica and three nieces Penelope, Emelia, Sophia, and many cousins.

John will be remembered for having a big heart and helping wherever he could. Devoted, good natured, and valiant just barely begins to describe John, he will be sorely missed.

Services honoring John will be at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnstown at 11am with Rosary prior to at 10:30am. Interment will take place at Johnstown Cemetery.
