John Berner Roberts, born September 22, 1937, called to heaven July 27, 2021 John was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mr. Melvin John Roberts and Grace Bartholomew Roberts.
He was the first born of eight children. John grew up in Brigham City, Utah and attended Box Elder High School where he graduated and then joined the US Air Force, where he served from 1957- 1961. He married Cheryl Gardner Roberts on November 16, 1963. He worked for Thiokol Chemical Corporation until 1964. Moved to San Jose, California and worked for IBM from 1964-2000. IBM brought him to Colorado where they raised two sons. John and Cheryl remained in Boulder County until they retired to be snow birds in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
John leaves behind his wife of 58 years Cheryl, his two sons and daughter in laws Darren John (Christine), Dale Martin (Debbie) and grandchildren Chad, Kate, Samantha Benner (Tyler), and Jacob Roberts. His brothers and sisters, Lael Hopkin, Val (Judy), Kay Rae (Gavin) Jesse Leon, Cleo McKaige, Delene Stokes (Lynn) and Ardis Roberts A celebration of life will take place this fall in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
