Jose Arturo Castaneda (Arturo) from Longmont, CO, originally from Estancia De Guadalupe, Zacatecas. Passed away on March 22, 2022, at his home. Arturo was born on December 13, 1962, to Aurora and Vicente Castaneda. He came to Colorado at the age of 18. In 1985 he met Sarah Encinia, widowed mother of three children: Monica, Rodolfo, Daniel. In 1987 they married and completed the rest of their family with two boys Christopher and Joseph. Arturo worked in construction, poultry farms, and in 1989 started working at Longmont Foods where he quickly became a foreman. The plant closed in 2011. He was currently employed by Ward Landscaping. He enjoyed spending time with his family, helping them with whatever he could, watching football and drinking an ice-cold beer.
Arturo Survived by his parents: Vicente and Aurora Castaneda of Longmont, His Children: Monica, Rudy, Daniel, Chris and his wife Josephine, Joey and his wife Amanda all of Longmont. His brothers: Pablo and his wife Margarita, Jorge and his wife Sonia, Manuel and his wife Francisca, Luis and his wife Karen, his sisters Graciela, Alejandra and her husband Cesar, Ana and her husband Juan all of Longmont. His grandchildren Isaiah, Arely, Maci, Adam, Damian, Daniel, Johnny, Jackson, Emily, Antonio, Isaac, Vincent, Neveah, JoJo, Isaiah, his great grandson Jeremiah and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arturo was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Ramiro and Gabriela Castaneda, his maternal grandparents Manuel and Herminia Lovato, his father-in-law and mother-in-law Valentin and Sara Encinia, his sister Carmen Castaneda, Brother in-law Steven Encinia and grandson Devon Garza.
A viewing is scheduled for Saturday April 2, 2022 at 11 am and will be followed by a service at 12:30 pm at Caroll-Lewellen Funeral Home in Longmont.
