Joseph Allen Corlett died unexpectedly in Boulder, CO, on February 3, 2021, at the age of 67.
Joe is survived by his two daughters, Julia Lieser and Emily Corlett; his sister, Denise Montemurro; his brother, Robert Corlett; and loving nieces and nephews Kevin, Kara, Jennifer, Beth, Lori, Bryan ,and Keith. He is predeceased by his father, James Corlett Sr., his mother, Anne Corlett, and his eldest brother, James Corlett.
Joe Corlett was born on November 1, 1953, at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, NJ. He lived with his family in West New York, NJ, before moving to Englewood, NJ. He graduated from Dwight Morrow High School and attended Ramapo College, where he majored in writing. After visiting friends in Colorado, he decided he would make his home there. In 1976, Joe moved to Colorado where he fell in love with the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time biking and hiking in the Boulder area. He met his former wife, Renata Colitti, in October of 1987 at a CU football game. Joe and Renata were married on February 20, 1988. They welcomed their first daughter, Julia, on August 15, 1988. Joe and Renata moved with Julia to Louisville, CO, where they welcomed their second baby girl, Emily, on Joe’s birthday, November 1, 1991. Joe had a successful life-long career in sales. Joe loved to cook, listen to music, go to the movies, and spend time with his daughters, who were the highlight of his life. Joe was an incredible story teller, and to know Joe was to love Joe. He treasured his relationships with close friends throughout his life.
