October 6, 1948 ~ November 21, 2020 (age 72)

Kathleen “Kathy” Davis passed away on Saturday, November 21st 2020 in her home in Longmont CO. She was born in Brooklyn NY on October 6th, 1948. Being a New Yorker was one of the things that Kathleen took great pride in, she was proud of her Brooklyn roots. She loved sharing stories of her childhood growing up with her sisters and brothers. Her siblings meant the world to her.

Kathy held several careers in her life, a job she was proud of was running the operations of Caswell Massey Apothecary in NY, NY. Approximately 15 years ago Kathy retired to focus on her health.

The job Kathy was most proud of was being Nana. Kathy loved being a grandmother to her five grandchildren and most recently her first great grandson. They filled her heart with so much joy. She would enjoy spending time with them, sharing stories, teaching them how to bake or cook, and watching their favorite TV shows. Kathy loved keeping traditions with her family and hoped that her grandchildren will carry them on. The five of them will forever end the Happy Birthday song with a baritone….”and many more”.

Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents, Margie and John Nelson, her sisters Patricia and Eileen Nelson, her brother John Nelson, her closest friend and sister Elaine Coco, and her beloved son Thomas Cornelius.

Kathy is survived by her best friend and husband Kevin Davis, her football watching partner and son Chuck Cornelius and his wife Vicki who Kathy introduced to her son almost 30 years ago.   Her grandchildren who she loved with her entire being, Brooke and Lynne Cornelius, David Anthony Cuffaro, Destiny Cornelius, December Cornelius, and her great grandson Thomas Cornelius. Her sisters Maureen Nelson and Madeline Verling, and her brothers Dennis and Robert Nelson. She always looked forward to their frequent chats.

We will all miss her dearly, but it gives us comfort to know that she is joined with her son and her family. We know she is dancing once again.
