Kay June Davis-Nason of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 20, 2024, with her family by her side.

Kay was born in Eastern Kansas and grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma. She was a lifelong learner. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Tulsa University, her Master's Degree from Abilene Christian University, and her PhD from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Early in her career, she taught High School English in Texas. Later, she was a college professor, teaching classes at both Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado. Following her retirement from teaching, Kay volunteered as a Master Gardener for Larimer County as well as Market Master for the Larimer County Farmers Market. She also served in the Fort Collins Junior League.

Kay a proud Kappa Kappa Gamma alum, always remembering her sorority days with fondness. She was a woman of deep faith and a member of the Foothills Assembly of God Church. In addition to education and gardening, Kay loved the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling internationally with her husband, visiting numerous countries all over the world. She was also a lover of animals, especially her cats.

Kay was a devoted wife and mother, who always put her family and their needs above that of her own. She will be dearly missed.

Left to remember Kay are her husband, Steven Nason, daughters, Julie (Eddie) and Debra (David), and her grandchildren, Ryan, Brandi, Gabrielle, and Griffin. She is further survived by her sister-in-law, Shirley. She is greeted in heaven by her parents, Mary Jane and Herbert Summers Sr., and her brother, Herbert Jr.
