Kenneth Lee Maiwald (“Lee”) 86 of Ft. Collins, Colorado, died March 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife and family in his home. He was born on September 6, 1937, in Beatrice, Nebraska to Kenneth and Helen Maiwald.
Lee was raised in Grand Island, Nebraska and married Sandra Cecelia Paulman in 1959. He obtained a Master of Science degree and was a professor of business classes and computer programming at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska for most of his career. In 1988-1989, he participated in a Fulbright Teacher Exchange and taught in Colchester, England where he made numerous long-lasting friendships.
He is survived by his wife, Sandy, son, Scott Maiwald and wife Lida Citroen, daughter, Suni Devitt and husband Andrew Devitt, granddaughter, Brianne Snell and husband Cameron Snell, grandson, Clark Saltz and wife Grace Saltz, grandson Beau Saltz, granddaughter, Margaret Devitt and great grandchildren Peyton and Emma Snell, Clark Jr, Nicoletta, Knox and Ezekial Saltz.
Lee’s wishes were that no service be performed and, that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Western Nebraska Community College (1601 E 27th Street, Scottsbluff, NE 69361).
