Laurie Ann Hammond Bullock, mother, daughter, sister, and friend passed peacefully on July 25, 2021 after a valiant fight against brain cancer.  Laurie touched so many people – her family, her friends, and her many professional colleagues.

Laurie was born on May 13, 1970 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to Don and Linda Hammond and was raised in Longmont, Colorado.  Laurie was active in many sports through her early years, including swim team, cheerleading and varsity tennis in high school; she graduated from Longmont High School in 1988.  Laurie attended Colorado State University where she was active in her sorority Pi Beta Phi as well as in student government where she was President of the Business College Council.  She received her Bachelor of Science from Colorado State University in 1992.

Laurie had a very successful career in Marketing in a variety of positions, most recently for Taco John’s Corporation and Marco’s Pizza Corporation; however, she felt her greatest accomplishment was her children, Abigail and Joe.  Laurie was the Girl Scout Leader, Boy Scout Den Mother, team mom for swim team, baseball and football and PTA member.  She was active for Joe’s band, Static State, at Global Sound Studio.  In between marketing positions Laurie was a substitute teacher in the Adams 12 School District.

Laurie was always a very active person – running many half marathons and the Rock and Roll Denver Marathon.  She and Frank raised Abigail and Joe to enjoy camping, skiing, fishing, hiking – really anything outdoors.  Laurie was also an avid reader – enjoying her book club with her mom, sister and childhood friends for more than a decade.  More recently Laurie was one of the original bartenders at her friend’s brewery, Rails End Brewery.

Laurie is survived by her children, Abigail Marguerite Bullock and Joseph Frank Bullock; her father, Don Hammond; her sister, Kristin Fleckenstein, brother in law Glenn Fleckenstein, nephews, Evan, Matt and Jackson Fleckenstein and great nephew Mason Fleckenstein; cousins Paul Moore, Lisa Connor and Tawni Sanodoval; her uncle, Gene Hammond. She is also survived by her former husband Frank Bullock and the Bullock family.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Linda Hammond.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 11th at 1:00 p.m. at Flatirons Church in Lafayette, CO.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, or online at www.braintumor.org
