July 21, 1924 - November 9, 2022

Our precious Lois Lucille Johnson, age 98, passed on to heaven in her sleep on November 9, 2022.  She was born in Waverly, Nebraska on July 21, 1924.  Lois grew up on a farm outside of Waverly with her three sisters who preceded her in death. She and one of her sisters were tomboys and helped with the cattle, garden and the chickens while the other two helped in the house. In high school, Lois ran the hurdles in track and loved being on the volleyball team.  After graduating from High School in Waverly, she went to a business school in Lincoln, Nebraska.

She worked at the Army Air Corp in Lincoln (later became the Air Force Base) and met her future husband, Earnie.  They were married Sunday, September 30, 1945.  Because of being in the service they were stationed at Lowry Air Force Base in Aurora, USA; Liverpool Air Force Base in England; Misawa Air Force Base in Japan; Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii and then returned Aurora, Colorado to retire with their three children.

Lois is survived by sons Robert G. (Patricia) Johnson of Aurora, Colorado; Richard T. (Lee) Johnson of Loveland, Colorado and daughter Linda L. (Butch) Divan of Martin, South Dakota.  She was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren!  Lois loved her family more than she could describe in words.

Lois was a quiet, steadfast, faithful, frugal and loving mother who really knew how to make delicious homemade desserts such as pies, cookies and cakes!  She spent the last seven and a half years in Loveland, Colorado at Lakeview Commons and was a favorite of several of the staff.  She always had encouraging words for her care givers. The family would like to thank them and the Halcyon Hospice care givers for their care and help.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, December 10, at 2:30 pm at Lifespring Church at 743 S. Dotsero Drive in Loveland, Colorado.

Memorial contributions can be made in Lois’s name to Salvation Army or

Lifespring Church in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home at 1102 Lincoln Ave. Loveland, CO 80537.
