Lonnie Lee Gray, 80, of Henderson, NV, died on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Sterling Ridge Senior Living in Las Vegas, NV.
He was born July 30, 1942, in Osceola, IA, to Francis and Grace Gray. He graduated from Murray High School in 1960. After graduation, he moved to Loveland, CO where he married Donna Jean Hess on April 1, 1961. In 1963, Lonnie started his 20-year-long career as a sheet metal worker for U.S. Engineering. He would often recount stories about his many projects including the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Thornton Town Center, and Budweiser. After his 37 year career (20 years which were with US Engineering) he retired in 2000.
Lonnie and Donna traveled the United States, visiting friends and family across the country, and in 2014, they settled down in their home in Henderson, NV. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and gardening. Lonnie is survived by his wife Donna; daughter Lori (Robert) Druzynski of Huntsville, AL; son Brian (Louona) Gray of Livermore, CO; grandchildren Danny Gray, Joshua Gray, Victoria Petritsch, Ashley Brandt, Jessica Matsuzek, Matthew Horrell, David Druzynski and Michael Druzynski; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Grace Gray, and his brothers, Larry Gray and Francis “Keith” Gray.
Memorial service, Thursday September 15th, 10:00 a.m., Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the BrightSpring Hospice Foundation in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
