Margaret (Schuessler) Ayan, known to all as Peg, was born on July 29, 1928, in St. Louis, Missouri where she spent her childhood.

On the day of Peg’s 22nd birthday, she married Roger who she met as a student at Culver-Stockton College in Missouri. Within two weeks of their wedding, Peg and Roger moved to Boulder, Colorado for Roger’s career. Boulder became their beloved community for the rest of their lives. They raised four children and as stay-at-home mother; the kids were the center of Peg’s life.

The family continued to grow with the arrival of grandkids and earlier this year, Peg became a great grandmother. Peg and Roger celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary before Roger’s passing in 2019. Life for Peg was never the same without her lifetime companion and the love of her life. Peg passed away peacefully on July 20, 2023.

She is survived by her family who will miss her dearly: Her children, Nancy Cook, Roger Jr. (Peg), Paul (Camilla) and Jack (Christine), her five grandchildren Austin (Niki), Helena and Lukas, Harrison and Emma, and her great grandson, Jay. At Peg’s request, no services will be held, she will be interred next to Roger at Fort Logan National Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for research. Greenwood & Myers Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
