Maria Eloisa “Elsie” Martinez, 87, of Fort Collins, passed away Monday July 5, 2021. Born in Delagua, she was the daughter of the late Tony and Clementina Jimenez.
Elsie was loved by everyone who met her, friends and family alike. She enjoyed doing crafts and was a ceramic teacher for several years. She enjoyed working out in her yard and was very proud of her roses.
She loved spending time with her family and she was a parishioner of The Annunciation Chapel.
Surviving are her sister, Isabel “Liz” (Vernon) Laub of Orange, CA.; brothers, Antonio “Tony” (Eleanor) Jimenez of Cheyenne, WY. and Marcos (Vicki) Jimenez of Fort Collins; children, Ruben (Diana) Vigil of Fort Collins, Anthony Vigil of Fort Collins, Maria “Bernadette” (Kris) Johnson of Fountain, CO. and Rita (Peter) Coode of Johnstown, CO.; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gale "Floyd" Martinez; two brothers, Arthur Jimenez and Luis Jimenez; step daughter, Deb Martinez; and grandson, Alexander Coode.
Rosary is being held Monday, July 12 at 6:00pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, July 13 at 11:00 am at The Annunciation Chapel, followed by interment at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
