 Marjorie Faye Erdley of Loveland, Colorado, went to join the Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Marge was born in a sod house in Cheyenne County, Kansas to Heath "Pete" and Emma Brown on June 15, 1925. She was the third of six children. When she was 6 weeks old her family moved to the ranch south of Wray, Colorado, where her mother had been born. She attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse then graduated from Wray High School in 1943.

Marge married John Erdley, Jr., on September 30, 1944. They lived in Ft. Collins while he attended Colorado A&M. She returned to Wray to live with her parents while her husband served in the Army. Her daughter, Connie, was born during that time. After John's discharge from the service and completion of college, they lived in several cities along the Front Range. Marge excelled at all she did and had outstanding secretarial skills.

She typed many theses for graduate students when John returned to veterinary school at CSU. After his graduation they moved to California and lived there for 30 years. She worked for Social Security until she and her husband opened a veterinary hospital where she was office manager, surgery assistant and kennel girl. After retiring Marge and John moved to Colorado to be closer to their family.

Marge was an avid golfer and showed her leadership abilities in the many offices she held in her golf groups including the Women's Golf Association of Northern California. Through the WGANC she was introduced to what became her favorite charity Guide Dogs for the Blind..She was also an awesome bridge player, loved to sew and could make fantastic garments, drapes, and slipcovers often without the help of a pattern. She made beautiful quilts and hand quilted them.

She loved her family and left them with wonderful memories of great home-cooked meals, card games, road trips and golf cart rides, to name a few!

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, John Erdley; her parents Pete and Emma Brown; sisters Maxine Young and Betty Drummond; brothers-in-law Ralph Young and Ray Drummond; brothers Herbert Brown and David Brown; sisters-in-law Laverne Brown and Rochelle Brown.

She is survived by her daughter, Connie Backes, and son-in-law Carl Backes; brother Clifford Brown; granddaughter Eldri Marshall and husband Ty Hankamer, great -grand children Carly and Caden Marshall; granddaughter Kari Backes; grandson Michael Backes and wife Lee, great -grandson John Backes; granddaughter Juli Ballard and husband Josh, great- granddaughter Emeri Woosley

Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Wray, Colorado.
