Heaven received Mary Alice Eldringhoff Todd on August 1, 2021.

Mary was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grand mother and Great-Grand mother. She was born May 21, 1932 in Pueblo, Colorado to Ben Eldringhoff and Eva Bonham Eldringhoff. She was the oldest of six children. When she was 10 years old the family moved to The Pines 18 miles south of Byers. Her elementary education was in a one room school house. She completed her high school education at Byers High School in 1952. Mary continued her education at Parks Business College receiving an Associates Degree in Business.

She was employed at Colliers Publishing Company and The Federal Reserve Bank. In 1956 she met Arthur Todd at a picnic through her friend Bonnie Diedrich. They were married November 16, 1956. Mary and Art were blessed with 3 daughters; Cynthia, Eva and Artis. She devoted her time to her family, friends and the farm. Mary had a family milk cow long after the dairy herd was sold in 1973. Her garden produced much of the food that was placed on her table throughout the year. Mary loved baking bread and pies and churning butter. Most days her girls came home from school to find a home-made treat waiting for them on the table.

The girl’s friends were always welcome to join in any family adventure. She was proud of her flower beds and lawn. Mary instigated the planting of many tree belts that shelter and shade the farmstead to this day. She loved creating and sewed one of a kind, designer quality clothes for her daughters. She also crocheted, painted and worked in stained glass. One of the many classes she took was spinning wool so that she could use her Grand-mothers spinning wheel. Mary was very social and loved to travel. She visited all 50 states and many countries.

She was also a part of local clubs. As a child she was a member of 4-H and as an adult she became a 4-H leader. Arthur and Mary were members of a Square Dancing club, Church Mariners, and she participated in Home-builders, and Silver and Gold Senior Citizens. She was a member of the Byers Community Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder. Mary was preceded in death by her Parents, and Husband. She is survived by her Daughters: Cynthia (Dale) Ness, Eva (Mike) Pugh, and Artis Todd. Grand children: Eric (Brigitte) Ness, Ryan (Breanne) Ness, Cameron Pugh. Great Grand children: MacArthur Ness and Brecklyn Ness. Siblings: Polly (Ken) De Tavernier, Kenneth (Glenna) Eldringhoff, Evalena (Wayne) Reynolds, Kathy (Johnny) Mattson, Zeb (Susan) Eldringhoff.
