Mary Catherine “Tiki” Theiss, 80, of Boulder, Colorado passed away on August 27, 2021 in Boulder. Tiki was born September 22, 1940 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to John and Helen Clare. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree, Tiki began her teaching career educating grade schoolers in Alexandria, VA, Placentia, CA and Red Bluff, CA. Edward and Tiki were married in Placentia, CA on December 21, 1968.
Tiki enjoyed cooking and was famous for her jams. Tiki was one of a kind. Her laughter was contagious and her warm loving smile lit up the room. She always had a “hello” and kind word for everyone. She had a way of making you feel very special and loved. Her husband, kids and grandkids were her life, her pride, and her joy. She leaves a void behind that will never be filled, but her courage, determination, positive attitude and love of life will carry on through all those who knew her and loved her. Tiki is survived by her husband, Edward; children, Tiffany Ponche (Ryan), Christina Knight (Mike), Nathan Theiss (Sayaka) and Christopher Theiss (Allison); brother Paul Clare (Shirley); grandchildren; Aspen Ponche, Gunnar Ponche, Paisley Ponche, Hanna Knight, Mason Knight, Tanner Knight, Dean Theiss, Stephanie Theiss, Brooke Theiss and Blakely Theiss.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father Reginald Foreman. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, September 3 at 10:00 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Interment will immediately follow Mass at Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetery. There will be a luncheon reception after the burial in Saint Bernard Hall at Sacred Heart of Mary. Contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart of Jesus School Foundation.
