March 19, 1930  -  February 13, 2024

Mary Louise Glenn passed away on February 13, 2024, just one month shy of her 94th birthday.

Mary was born on March 19, 1930, in Iceledo, Arkansas, moved to Oakland, California as a young girl, and relocated to Broomfield, Colorado in January of 1999 where she lived until her death. She had a long and progressive career as a legal secretary, Office Manager, Executive Assistant and Corporate Secretary with various companies, and retired from Kaiser Steel and Kaiser Industries after more than 30 consecutive years. Shortly after retirement, Mary moved to Broomfield to be close to her sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Dick Von Wald.

Mary was known for her ability to organize and keep meticulous track of information, and she was always happiest when she had something to attend to. She was a valued Secretary for the Gate and Green Homeowners Association and involved with local chapters of PEO and the Republican Women’s Coalition. She loved the written word, having spent all her career attending to the importance of keeping good records. After retirement, Mary developed a creative writing craft with a local writing group, sharing detailed and colorful descriptions of her travels and adventures.

With her husband of 47 years, Bill J. Glenn, Mary enjoyed live folk and bluegrass music and they listened to local talent in the Berkeley and Oakland coffee houses, music stores and dive bars long before it was a trend. Mary loved good food and wine and enjoyed shopping for, preparing and cooking healthy and interesting meals with the freshest ingredients and a distinct California flair. They lived modestly and appreciated good quality, so Mary and Bill enjoyed the good life together and were pleased when they had the chance to share with their friends and family.

Mary is preceded in death by her mother and father, Georgia and Charles Stratton; her husband Bill; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Dick. Mary is survived by Ruby and Dick’s children and their families; Rhonda Salmen of Longmont, Kris Von Wald of Medford, Oregon, and Ken Von Wald of Longmont.

Mary had no children of her own but was a faithful and present aunt to her dear sister Ruby’s children, Rhonda, Kris and Ken. Our lives are richer for having Mary in them, and she will be remembered with much love for being a constant and special person in our family life.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024, at 10:00 am at Rundus Funeral Home, 1998 W. 10 Avenue, Broomfield, CO 80020. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Northwest Church of Christ, 5255 W 98 Avenue, Westminster, CO 80020.

May Mary rest in peace in the arms of her Lord, and may her legacy live on in the hearts of those she touched.
