Merry “Connie” Kunz, 73, passed away peacefully in Loveland, Co on May 17th 2024.
Connie was born in Souix City, Iowa in 1950 to Ron and Joan Tideman. She was the 2nd of 8 children. Her family moved frequently in her youth, finally settling in Loveland in 1968.
Connie graduated high school in 1968 and shortly after she met James “Jim” Kunz. They married in Loveland in 1970 and remained to raise their two daughters.
Jim passed away in 1986 and Connie raised her girls as a single parent.
Connie began her career in 1977 at King Soopers where she held many positions, retiring as an assistant store manager in 2010.
During retirement, Connie enjoyed spending time with her 4 grandchildren. Connie was a very creative person. She spent time making jewelry, soap, dolls and blankets. Then she picked up the power tools, you name it, she made it. She was a Jill of all trades.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her granddaughter Isabelle Sutorius and her parents. She is survived by her 7 sibling, Terri Frei (Greg Tews), Tim Tideman (Pam), Jody Allen, Sue Roche (Brian), Rhonda Tideman, Mary Dutter (Bill), Joann Baker. Her 2 daughter Lisa Sutorius (KJ) and Nicolle “Nikki” Gonzales (Leo); her 4 grandchildren Justice and Mattix Gonzales and Nevaeh and Jordan Sutorius.
Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
