SEPTEMBER 29, 1927 – OCTOBER 27, 2020
Nola was born on September 29, 1927, in Eudora, Arkansas. to Robert and Ellie Merle Grubbs. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert C. Grubbs, Jr. She was married for 47 years to Ray T. Mason before his death in 2002. Nola is survived by her two children, Ray N. Mason and Russell Mason, and grandson Christopher Mason. Nola received degrees from the University of Arkansas and Memphis State University. She retired after 25 years as a teacher in the Shelby County Schools. She was a member of Wesleyan Hills United Methodist Church and was involved with United Methodist Women, McWherter Senior Center, and Good Sam Club. After her retirement, Nola enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Canada in the RV. She moved from Memphis, TN to Fort Collins, CO in 2007 where she lived at The Worthington, Good Samaritan Village, and Brookdale Care Center.
She will be interred at Memphis Memory Gardens in a private graveside ceremony. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request contributions to Wesleyan Hills United Methodist Church in Memphis.
