Orville James (OJ) Napton peacefully went to be with his lord and savior on January 16, 2021, while at home in Loveland, Colorado. OJ was born in North Lemmon, ND to Harry and Celia Napton on January 24, 1929. OJ served as a Sergeant First Class in the Korean War from 1950-1952 and was awarded an Army Occupational Medal (Japan), United Nations Service Medal and a Korean Service Medal with one Service Bronze Star. After the war, OJ married the love of his life, Yvonne Steen, on June 13, 1954 in Ipswich, SD and together they became proud parents of three children – Sandra, Larry and Donna. OJ was a small business owner, a volunteer fire fighter and taught small engine mechanics at VO-Tech Community College in Fort Collins, CO. Through the years, OJ and Yvonne called home the Dakotas, Texas and Colorado. OJ’s passions included woodcraft and bowling, and his beloved horse Blaze.

OJ is survived by his wife, Yvonne, and three children Sandra Casteel, Larry Napton and Donna Syvrud, eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. OJ is preceded in death by his parents, Harry & Celia Napton, and his seven siblings, John Napton, Richard Napton, Leo Napton, Ray Napton, Aldine Carmichael, Gordon Napton and Robert Napton.

OJ’s favorite bible verse was Ephesians Chapter 2, Verse 10 “For we are his workmanship, created in Jesus Christ unto good works, which God hath ordained that we should walk in them”

Orville Napton’s memorial service is being held at Resthaven Friday, January 22nd at 10:00am MT, with a viewing at 9:00am MT. Refreshments will be provided following service. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to be made in honor of Orville Napton’s memory to Loveland’s Community Kitchen or Meals on Wheels.
