September 29th, 1936 - December 19th, 2021

Patricia Ann Corcoran Ryan went peacefully to be with the Lord on December 19, 2021 in Broomfield, Colorado surrounded by her loving family. She was 85 years old. Pat was born the oldest of three girls to Irish immigrants John and Elizabeth Corcoran on September 29, 1936 in The Bronx, New York. Pat, who was lovingly nicknamed “Corky” as a child, was raised in Flushing, Queens, New York and attended Bishop McDonnell High school, and SUNY Albany where she received her degree in Education. She later went on to receive her Masters from St John's University, Queens. She met the love of her life Edward Ryan on the ski slopes of Stowe, Vermont and they married a year later on November 16,1962. After leaving Long Island, the Ryans lived in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire before they found their home in Boulder, Colorado in 1978 with their three children. After spending a year in Mexico and a year in Estes Park, they moved to Louisville, Colorado in 1996. Pat retired from teaching at St. Anne’s Catholic School and she and Ed kept themselves busy by traveling, volunteering and spending time with family. Quilting was one of Pat’s favorite things to do and she was a member of the No-Name quilt group for more than 30 years. Many family members and friends were blessed with quilts she made for them with love. Her energy and zest for life was rivaled only by her social skills. Pat could make friends with anyone, anywhere. She loved to travel and had an insatiable appetite for adventure. Her beautiful smile and her bright blue eyes gleamed with excitement as she shared her travel adventures and stories of her life experiences. She was even more excited when listening to the stories of others. Forever appreciative of her wonderful parents, schooling, and the travel opportunities she was given while growing up, Pat would frequently say ‘Do it while you can!’ which encouraged others to live their lives to the fullest and never miss an opportunity. Her pride and joy were her grandkids who filled her life with love and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Ryan in 2003, and a grandson, Finneran Kane, in 2001. Pat leaves behind her sisters Sheila Schmidt and Mary O’Donnell; her three children Elizabeth Christensen (Erik), Darren Ryan aka Justin Lefebvre (Holly), and Kimberly “Kemery” Kane; as well as her cherished grandchildren Alex Kane, Emily Kane, Eddie Christensen, Corcoran Kane, Brenden Christensen, Reilly Kane, Kya Selleck, ZyEnna Lefebvre and Rebel Lefebvre.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on January 6, 2022, 11:00 A.M., at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church 6739 S. Boulder Rd, Boulder with a reception immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to: Coal Creek Meals on Wheels 455 N Burlington Ave, Lafayette, CO 80026. Coalcreekmow.org.
