Peggy Christopher, 90, of Longmont, CO passed away December 1st 2021 and was laid to rest on December 15th. Peggy Christopher was born March 27th, 1931 in Racket, Missouri to Otto and Mildred Houk. She was known for her extraordinary courage and strength living through the Great Depression, war times, polio treatment with an iron lung, Covid, and cancer for years when informed she had months to live. Growing up, she lived in Clinton, MO, Hollywood, CA, Santa Fe, NM, and settled down in Longmont, CO in 1949. While a single mother, one of Peggy’s proudest moments was earning her Cosmetology degree in 1961. She met and married Leray Christopher in 1964.
She believed her life was fulfilled with happiness by raising her family, working, and traveling. Peggy will be missed by her family in Longmont: sons Mike Mason and Perry Christopher, “adopted daughter in law and secretary” Laura Dow, grandchildren Austin and Alex Christopher, and family, Tyler Dow. Extended family in Missouri includes her adopted sister Sue Allen, her nieces Debbie Parvin, Stacey Severson, and their families. Peggy is at peace with her husband Leray Christopher, sister Betty Hicks, son Corky Mason, and younger brother Perry Alexander Houk. Peggy remains a shining eternal light Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
