AUGUST 31, 1927 – JULY 3, 2021

Ralph Gordon Peterson, 93, of Fort Collins passed away on July 3, 2021. Ralph was born in Courtland, Kansas to Ralph and Lucille Peterson. Ralph graduated from high school in Boulder, Colorado in 1945, and attended University of Colorado.

Ralph volunteered for service during WWII and served in the Navy in 1944 and 1945.

Ralph, “Pete”, as many of his friends called him, loved life. He loved his family, dancing to big band music, crossword puzzles, and bowling. He once bowled a ‘299’ game. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Ralph made friends easily and they stayed his friend for life. He was kind, generous and fun to be with, a real ‘hoot’ as many of our friends told us.

He and his wife, Joan, were ‘snow-birds’ in Arizona for many years. He was an avid collector of stamps and coins and had many hobbies. He was skilled in carpentry and electrical projects and loved fixing and building things, like a TV from a kit. He would spend hours on finding burned out bulbs on the string of Christmas lights. He even tried his hand at macrame and cross stitch.

Ralph was married to Joan Pullen for 66 years before she passed away in 2013. Ralph is survived by his son Steve, daughters Karen and Pam, as well as 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter, and his loving partner, Joyce Ray.

Ralph retired from the Public Service Company of Colorado as an electrical engineer.

After moving to Colorado from Kansas, he lived in Limon, Boulder, Brighton, Northglenn, and Fort Collins.

Memorial services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 10 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Serve 6.8 at: www.serve68.org .
