June 10, 1936 ~ July 17, 2021 (age 85)

The life journey of Raymond A. Hill, 85, of Longmont, CO, loving husband and father, came to a peaceful end on July, 17, 2021. Ray was born June 10, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Grace and Howard Hill. After serving in the U.S. Airforce, Ray worked as an Air Traffic Controller and instructor. While in the U.S. Airforce, Ray met Bonnie Palmer in Spokane, Washington.

They were married on April 4, 1959 and spent 62 wonderful years together. Ray and Bonnie loved adventures on their motorcycle and in their RV, touring the U.S. and Canada. Ray also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing and dancing. Texas was his second home, he spent 21 years in the Rio Grande Valley where he had many friends and acquaintances. Ray and Bonnie enjoyed several tours into Mexico along with friends, and sometimes just the two of them. Ray became an avid fly fisherman late in life and it became one of his favorite activities.

You would often find Ray and his son-in-law, Jim, in their pontoon boats, fishing Spinney Mountain Reservoir in Colorado; the Green River, below Flaming Gorge Dam in Utah; and the Bighorn and Missouri rivers in Montana. Ray was generous with family, friends, neighbors and strangers alike; always putting others above himself. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Bonnie; his daughters Whitney and Payton; his granddaughter Kristina; and his grandsons Wyatt and Carson. Ray was a genuine, one-of-a-kind, wonderful human being. While we will deeply miss him, we will hold him forever in our hearts.
