Ray Tolbert of Denver, Colorado passed quietly in his sleep Friday March 19, 2021. Born in Denver, Colorado on September 17, 1937, Ray was adopted by Harry C. Tolbert and Mable Willis of Fort Morgan, Colorado. Ray grew up and lived in several suburbs of Denver including, Aurora, Westminster and Denver. He also spent a short amount of time on the western slope of Colorado in Delta, before moving back to the front range where he graduated from Westminster High School. A short time after enlisting in the Navy, November of 1956, Ray met the love of his life Mary Charlyne (Char) Ingram and were married on June 28, 1958. Residing in the Denver area for several more years, Ray and Char had three children; Donald, Mary and David before settling in their new home in Arvada, CO in 1967 where they lived for many happy years. Ray worked in civil and residential construction for the bulk of his career and started his own business in fine grading. Some years later he started in the concrete flatwork business for residential construction and enjoyed a profitable business.

In the late 70's Ray and Char had two more children Mike and Raeann, and within a few years built a new home and moved to Golden, CO.

Ray enjoyed, fishing, hunting, bowling, golf, and being outdoors. A longtime fan of the Denver Bears, Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos, he rarely missed a game.  He was a lifetime member of the Elk's lodge, and he was a member of the Knights of Columbus where he held several leadership roles.

Upon his retirement, Ray and Char moved to Cedaredge, CO where they built a small house on some property. They made fast friends there and were welcomed into this wonderful little community.

Rays wife Char preceded him in death, while Ray leaves behind his five children, eight grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
