Rebecca M. Stoner, 1948-2022, of Broomfield, CO, passed away on August 22, 2022 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Johnstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Simmons, Jr and Dorothy Simmons Yowaish. She is survived by two brothers, Randy Simmons (Susan) and Brian Simmons (Jeaux) and a sister Pamela Mowrey (Philip). A brother, Wendell Simmons (Carole) preceded her in death. Additionally, she is survived by her husband, Larry, and three sons: Shawn Killam married to Sarah Kahat of Littleton, CO, Austin married to Rose Becker Stoner of Miami, FL, and Dylan of Broomfield, CO. She is also survived by five grandchildren.
A graduate of Lancaster General Hospital School of Nursing, she later received her BSN from Metropolitan State University in Denver, CO. After serving in the United States Air Force, she worked 40 ears at Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, CO and Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, CO. An active member of Shepherd of Love Church in Broomfield, she also enjoyed traveling, especially spending time at the beach, viewing sunsets, and spending time with family and friends.
The family will participate in an internment service at City of Louisville cemetery, her final resting place. A memorial service will follow.
