December 5, 1952 - October 8, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Reed Marshall Vining, who departed this world on October 8th at the age of 70. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends.ea

Reed was born on December 5, 1952, to Ward and Maxine Vining in Pueblo, Colorado. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Reed was a man of many talents and passions. He worked retail sales for most of his career, where his charismatic smile, sense of humor, and unwavering persistence could close almost any deal on the table. Reed was excellent at what he did and was humorously known to have the ability to “sell ice to Eskimos.” His commitment to his work was matched only by his dedication to his friends and family.

In his spare time, Reed enjoyed a large variety of activities including cooking for his family, playing and watching sports, and enjoying the great outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, skilled hunter, and enjoyed any time spent camping with his family. Reed was also an excellent athlete, and in his younger years, played in many basketball and softball leagues. His passion for sports eventually led him to umpiring softball where he met life-long friends and enjoyed many evenings at the ball field.

He is survived by his two sons Patrick Vining (Cassandra) and Richard Cayer (Darlene), along with his ex-wife Evelyn Vining and his two sisters Patricia Lunn and Micaela Grantham. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aiden, Charlie Jane, Hailey, Kaden, and Torin.

A celebration of life gathering to honor Reed Vining will be held on October 22, 2023, at 7753 South Carr Court, Littleton, Colorado 80128. The celebration will begin at 11:00 AM and will run until we are out of food and drinks (provided). Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects and celebrate his life with us.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to NOCO Humane Society (formerly: Larimer Humane Society) and/or the Weld Food Bank in Reed Vining's memory.

We extend our deepest gratitude to all those who have offered their condolences, support, and love during this difficult time. Reed will be remembered for his amazing food, welcoming heart, infectious laugh, and loving smile... we will miss you Reed-O!
