Richard Serrano, lovingly known as "Pops", peacefully passed away on July 4, 2023, surrounded by his family. Richard was born on June 16, 1945, in Santa Maria, California to Ralph and Margaret Serrano.  He grew up in Cupertino, where he attended Cupertino High School.

Richard married Mary, and together they raised three children: Irene, Orlando, and Mario.  Richard’s greatest joy came from being a grandfather and great-grandfather. He truly loved to be in the presence of his grandchildren: Daniel, Mallory, Rachael, Elias and Brandin; great-grandchildren: Preston, Abagail, Cheyenne, Hudson, and Emberly.  He cared deeply for his son-in-law Richard and daughters-in-law Damaris, and Kristin.

Richard's kindness extended beyond his immediate family. He was affectionately known as "Uncle Richard" to his nieces and nephews.  His kind heart, and shenanigans will not be forgotten to everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Throughout his life, Richard remained close to his siblings. He shared a special bond with his brothers Art, Frank, Pete, Ruben, and late brother Joe, and had a special place in his heart for his sisters, Gloria and Virginia.

Richard will be remembered for his kind and giving nature, and the trinkets he presented to loved ones. He was there for his community, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.  Richard's warmth and generosity touched the lives of many, and his compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

As we say goodbye to Richard, let us remember the joy and love he brought into our lives. May his spirit guide us, and may his memory be a blessing to us all. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished.

Mass will be held on August 5th, 2023 at 10:30am at St. Peter's Catholic Church 4085 Main St., Kelseyville, CA.  Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Richard's life following the service at 8075 Red Hills Road, Kelseyville, CA.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Homeless Garden Project as Richard was passionate about supporting their cause.
