Robert L. (Bob) Abrams, a lifelong Northern Colorado resident, died at home on April 12, 2023.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce (Ottaway); sons Alan (Julie), Ron (Julie); granddaughters Becky (Bruce) Froelich, Amy (Mike) Zakely; and great grandchildren Ashlee and Tyler Zakely.    He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Lina (Schwalm) Abrams.

Bob was born May 18, 1930 in Milliken, Colorado.  He graduated from Colorado State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (now Colorado State University).  He served as a B-29 pilot in the United States Air Force from 1952-1956, serving mainly in the Pacific.

After his time serving, he returned to Colorado and built his career with Western Sugar, retiring in 1996 as Manager of Agriculture.

Bob loved God, Country, family, his military brothers and sisters, agriculture (especially sugar beets), miniature horses and dogs. He was quick with a smile, a twinkle in his eye, and a story or two about any or all of these.

Bob was active in agricultural consulting, VFW, American Legion, 4H, and any other project where he could serve his community.  He was always there to offer help – to friend, family, or stranger.

We miss him every day, but there is a star shining more brightly on us tonight.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life, Wednesday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. at VFW Post 41, 305 N. Cleveland Avenue, Loveland.  Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Foothills Gardens of Memory, 14241 N, 107th Street, Longmont, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to VFW Post 41, American Legion Post 15, or the Larimer County 4-H Foundation.
