Robert “Bobby” Lee Salazar of Loveland passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 9, 2023 at the age of 61.

Bobby was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on November 27,1961 to LeRoy & Margaret Salazar. Bobby was the oldest grandson on his mother’s side.  When he was born, his Grandpa Naranjo affectionately called him his “Little General”.  After his father completed his service in the Army they moved back to Berthoud, Colorado. Bobby attended Berthoud schools where he developed lifelong friendships with Allan Gingery & Monte Hamann as well as many others.  After school he started his career in the construction field where he became a Laborer Foreman and a very talented painter on the side.

In 2004 Bobby married the love of his life Cherry Williams Salazar. They lived their life happily throughout Northern Colorado residing in Loveland in the final years of his life with their fur children Hazel, Roscoe and Bentley.  

Bobby left a lasting impression on everyone he met.  Bobby was always the life of the party. Bobby had the most brilliant smile with an infectious laugh that was contagious. Bobby enjoyed playing golf and softball in his spare time.  He was a neat freak and kept his Ford Mustangs spotless.

Bobby loved and cherished his family. He had a close bond with his sisters Liza and Oretta. Bobby, Cherry and “the sisters” had an annual tradition of dressing up and celebrating Halloween together.

Bobby will be deeply missed by his wife Cherry of Loveland CO, father LeRoy Salazar of Berthoud CO, stepson Beau Kitzis of FL, granddaughter June Kitzis of FL, siblings Cathy (Alfred) Gonzales of Longmont CO, Mike Naranjo of Longmont CO, Geri (Abe) Rivas of Greeley CO, Georgia (Ernie)Rivas of Fort Collins CO, Rodney Salazar of Loveland CO, Oretta Salazar of Berthoud CO, brother-in-law Nash Martinez of Firestone CO, Uncles Richard (Cathy) Salazar of Loveland CO, Joe(Joyce) Naranjo of OH, Manual Naranjo of Thornton CO, Roger (Karen) Naranjo of TN, aunt Phoebe Salazar of Denver CO,  great aunt Dolores Armijo of Fort Collins CO, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In Eternal Rest Bobby joins his mother Margaret M. Salazar, sisters Mary Naranjo, Carmen Martinez, Liza Salazar, nephew Brian Naranjo, great niece Hope Rivas, grandparents Eligio & Rosenda Salazar, Jose & Josephine Naranjo, Ed & Cleo Ward as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Bobby was an Avid Raiders fan, please feel free to wear Black and Silver in his honor.

A Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 15, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will take place at Foothills Garden of Memory in Longmont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bobby Salazar Memorial Fund in care of Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home.
