Robert David Hepp, 92, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023.  He was born on May 31, 1931, to Balthaser and Catherine Hepp in Brighton, Colorado. He was the oldest of six children.

Always a hard worker, Robert left school after the eighth grade to support his family and help on the farm.  On November 28, 1952, Robert entered the U.S. Army and attended basic training at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.  He served in the Korean War as an artillery crewman and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  During his service years, he had a special pen-pal, Nadine Nuss.  Robert and Nadine’s parents had lived next to each other while farming and Nadine loved to support the service members that she knew.  When Robert was released from active military service on September 21, 1954, and returned home to Colorado, he and Nadine began their courtship.  They were married on November 19, 1955.  Robert died on the date that would have been his 68th wedding anniversary.

Robert and Nadine raised four children on a farm outside of Longmont, Colorado.  Robert was an excellent farmer, and he taught his children how to use irrigation tubes and correctly turn hay bales for the stacker.  When the weather and the crops were in harmony, he took his family camping on private land in Wyoming. Fishing and relaxing with friends and family were the main agenda.  Robert and Nadine had a robust friend group and enjoyed many trips and social gatherings with them over the years.  Robert remained an avid fisherman and enjoyed outings with his brothers up to the time of his death.

Robert lost his wife, Nadine (Nuss) Hepp when she passed away on March 30, 2013.  Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Dorothy Sack and Shirley Stroh. He is survived by his children: Alan (Bonnie) Hepp of Harpswell, Maine, Keesha Hepp of Firestone, LaVonne (Dave) Stewart of Longmont, and LaRae (Ken) Onorato of Aurora as well as three brothers, Don (Nonie) Hepp, Tom Hepp, and Larry Hepp.  Robert was the grandfather of Amie (Mike) Mallory, Sara (Phillip) Robino, and Megan, Andrew (Liz), and Katie Onorato.  He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren.
