Robert E. McDaniel, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2020. Robert was born on November 8, 1933 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was the middle child of Edwin McDaniel and Emma McDaniel.

Robert (Bob) grew up in Philadelphia, PA. After high school, Bob joined the military and served honorably and proudly in the Army for twenty years. He worked as a helicopter mechanic and was a member of the Army EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) . His military service sent him to many different countries such as Korea, Taiwan and Germany. It was while he was stationed at Fitzsimmons Army base in Aurora, Colorado that he met the love of his life, Barbara. Bob married his beloved Barbara on July 2, 1960. When Bob retired from the military in 1972, he settled in Colorado where he began a career as a carpenter. He enjoyed woodworking and was skilled with a scroll saw.

Bob will be remembered for his sense of humor and laughter, his dedication to family and his unwavering sense of duty to his country.

Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara McDaniel; his loving son, Christopher McDaniel and loving daughter, Joyce Mckinney and son-in-law, Randall Mckinney; He also has four precious grandchildren: Amanda McDaniel and Beau Hebb, Stephanie Bobbin and Craig Bobbin, Lauren Jopson and Miranda McDaniel; as well as two treasured great-grandchildren, Juniper Bobbin and Trevor Hebb; in addition to many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will take place Monday, September 28, 2020 from 1:00-5:00 at Howe Mortuary located at 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, CO 80501.

Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Howe Mortuary located at 439 Coffman Street, Longmont, CO 80501. Followed by burial service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Area C at 2:15 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Wild Animal Sanctuary, 1946 County Rd. 53, Keenesburg, CO 80643. Please indicate on check “In Memory of Robert McDaniel”.
