Robert “Bob” Emerson McCullough, 72, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones and in Longmont, Colorado, on October 21, 2021, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Born September 14, 1949, in Marion, Ohio, to Cliff and Wanda (Carey) McCullough, Bob graduated from Marion Harding High School. Soon after graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving three years in Germany, and traveling extensively throughout Europe. After his service, he returned to Ohio and attended The Ohio State University.

In 1984 he relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado, where he met Milly Hof Pas. They fell in love and married in 1986, living in Boulder, Longmont, then Broomfield over the years.

Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, and cheering on his grandchildren in their various pursuits from baseball, soccer, and cheerleading to dance, art, and race-car driving.  Bob’s grandchildren were the beloved lights of his life, and he developed many valued friendships through their activities.

Bob was known for his delicious chicken wings, giving out lemon drops and tootsie rolls at all his grandchildren’s sporting events, and regaling family and friends with exciting stories from his time in the service.

Bob is survived by his caregiver and former wife Milly McCullough, stepdaughters Bethany Pas-Flythe (husband Jeffrey Flythe), and Stephanie Pas Hamill (husband Brian Hamill), granddaughters Kaylee Flythe and Sara Hamill, grandsons Ryan Flythe (partner Hannah McClelland and daughter Rosie), Tyler Hamill, and Ethan Hamill, brother-in-law Walter Caldwell, niece Cathy Caldwell Hughes, and nephews Richard Caldwell and Justin McCullough. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda Caldwell, sister-in-law Jan McCullough and nephew Jason McCullough. The family is very grateful for the support and assistance from Trail Winds Hospice of Boulder, Colorado.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that loved ones make donations to Trail Winds Hospice of Boulder, Colorado, or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
