Ronnie Green was born on April 30, 1939, in Seymour, TX, to Claude and Elsie Green. He was the oldest of four children. Ronnie and his family moved from Seymour, TX, to Clifton, AZ, where they lived for three years. They returned to Seymour where they remained. Ronnie joined the Navy in 1956. He was in basic training at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, CA. During his active duty, he was on the USS Vigor MSO 473, a mine sweeper, and toured the East & West Coasts, Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic and Mediterranean Sea.

He was honorably discharged in 1960. Ronnie remained very close to his shipmates and enjoyed several reunions with them over the years. Ronnie worked for his uncle, who had a farm north of Flagler. During this time, he met his future bride, Linda Elrick. The two married in 1962 and to this union, two daughters, Kimberly and Angie, were born. Ronnie worked at Flagler Co-op where he drove a propane truck. He then went to work for Plateau Natural Gas Company and was transferred to Hugo, CO. Ronnie worked for the gas company for a couple of years before he was employed by KC Electric Company. In 1975, Ronnie and Linda purchased the Gambles Hardware Store and remained in business until 1986. Ronnie and Linda moved to Cortez, CO, where he was employed by the State of Colorado, Port of Entry.

He retired in 2001. In 2003, they returned to Flagler, CO, to retire. They built a new home and have enjoyed this home and their time together in Flagler. Ronnie’s past time included flower gardening, learning computers and telling wonderful stories to his granddaughters. His greatest joy were his granddaughters, Brittney, Heather and Mandy. He was so proud of their many accomplishments and loved them very much. Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Linda. His daughter, Kimberly Graham and husband Terry of Hugo, CO and daughter, Angie McAfee and husband Mike, of Lewis, CO. Three granddaughters, Brittney Isom and husband Derek, Heather Graham and Mandy McAfee. His nephew, Gary Elrick and wife Angie of Flagler, CO. His sister, Sharon Kelly and husband Ralph of Abilene, TX and brother, Pete Green of Clyde, TX. Brother-in-law, Roger Long. Ronnie has several nieces and nephews. Ronnie was proceeded in death by his parents, Claude and Elsie Green, brother, Gerald Green, brother, Randy Wilson, sisters-in-law, Sherry Long and Michelle Green, brothers-in-law, Allen Elrick and Gary Elrick, Sr. and nephew, Michael Long.
