With sadness, the Moore family announces the peaceful passing of Ross John Moore on February 15, 2023; patient, honest and humorous father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend.
Ross was the firstborn son of Robert and Irene (Nierath) Moore. As a young mechanic in Cleveland Heights, Ross could name every American auto make and model. He met Monica (Polick) through a shared interest in roller skating, dating throughout his Army enlistment. He was stationed at Korea's Camp Casey and was an Honor Guard Member in the 7th Infantry Bayonet Division, achieving the rank of PFC. Following his honorable service, he and Monica married in 1962 and quickly started a family of six children, later moving to Wooster, OH to care for Ross' father. Ross was a soft spoken and steadfast friend, unwavering in his faith.
Over years he met for Bible study, led Sunday school and church singing, despite his tone deafness. His family devotion provided Christian K-12 education for all 6 children. He squeezed them all into a pop-up camper for adventurous family road trips, helped them make s’mores at the family cottage, and consistently supported their many artistic pursuits. A lifelong salesman, Ross founded RJM Systems, providing hand-held scanners and software for retail store use, finally retiring several years after a 2014 CO relocation brought Monica and him closer to family.
Ross is survived by three cherished grandchildren – Miles Moore, Matteo and Isabella Lambardi; five children – Stacy Moore, Sharon (Mike) Guli, Sheila Stewart, Suzanne (Giovanni) Lambardi di San Miniato, and Samuel Moore; daughter-in-law Brenda (Romandia) Moore; beloved brother Robert L. Moore and family – wife Nancy and children Derek and Shanna. Ross was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Monica (Polick) Moore, and son Stephen Moore.
Ross lived a life filled with meaningful acts of love, always with a twinkle of humor in his eyes. We are forever grateful for this most wonderful legacy. Condolences may be sent to [email protected].
