Rudolph (Rudy) J. Susa, (87) of Longmont, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 13, 2020, with family by his side.

Rudy was born September 10, 1933 in Golva, ND to Frank and Gertrude (Rising) Susa where he graduated from high school in 1951.  He received his Standard Teachers Certificate at Dickinson State Teachers College.  After teaching at a rural school for one year in Williams County, ND he returned to Golva and was employed at The First State Bank for a decade.

On June 1, 1963, he married Nelda K. Kosmicki and they moved to Longmont, CO where he was employed at the Longmont National Bank (now US Bank).  After 30 years, he retired in 1993.

He is survived by his daughter Maretta (William) Armstead and children Bryan-James, Troy-Michael and Weatherly Ann and his son Jonathan Susa (Dawna) and their daughter Riley and son Colton, all of Ft. Collins, CO;  and sisters, Clara Michels of Beach, ND, Frances (Paul) Zachmann of Baker, MT, Marie (Donald) Nistler of Golva, ND and Theresa Sartz of Greeley, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Martin, John, Edward and Benedict and sisters Catherine Barthel and Dorothy Green.

He had been a member of several civic organizations in Longmont and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Longmont, CO, serving as Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and as Lector. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1313, and Fourth Degree member of Assembly 0094 having an Honorary Life Membership.

He truly loved and enjoyed his church and his family, especially the grandchildren.  He enjoyed golf, dancing, and traveling in the motorhome having spent many winters in Arizona.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Building Fund at the church or through Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home, 503 Terry St. Longmont, CO 80501

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
