May 25, 1942 - June 26, 2021

Ruth Ann Hussey, age 79, of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away June 26, 2021. She was born May 25, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to Thelma and Roscoe Carlock. When she was four, her family moved to Greenville, Ohio. Upon high school graduation, she attended Bowling Green State University (Ohio) where she graduated with a degree in education. Ruth Ann also completed post-graduate work at additional universities. Most of her teaching career was in the Dayton, Ohio, area with the Mad River Township School District. In 2000, she retired after 35 years in the classroom.

Ruth Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years, James, and two daughters and their families: Jennifer (Todd), Harper and Finley Danielson of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; and Molly (Chris), Jaxon and Quincey Hosek of Erie, Colorado. She is also survived by her sister Sharon Lehman of Vancouver, Washington; and her brothers: Dr. Robert (Linda) Carlock of Springfield, Oregon and Blain Carlock (Karen) of Oklahoma City as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Paul Carlock and Dr. Frederick Carlock (Andrea) of Stayton, Oregon.

Ruth Ann enjoyed reading, biking, traveling and playing cards, particularly bridge. She passed on her appreciation of the performing arts and love for the beach and ocean to her daughters and grandchildren. Ruth Ann was deeply proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. A private memorial service for the family will be held in Oregon at a later date.
