December 16th, 1923 - January 29th, 2021

Ruth Fischer Meyer 97, of Boulder, died peacefully in hospice on January 29,
2021. Born in 1923 in Denver, Colorado, she was the daughter of the late Charles Fischer Sr. and Dorothy Fischer.

Her husband of 43 years, Walter, and her brothers Robert Fischer, and Charles Fischer predeceased Ruth. She is survived by her children Emily Dillman of Longmont and Stephen Meyer of Louisville and her grandchildren, Lon Dillman, Wade Dillman, Allison Meyer and Keenan Meyer. She has six great-grandchildren.

Ruth graduated from East High School in Denver (1941) and attended the University of Colorado. She belonged to the Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated with a nursing degree in 1946 and worked in Honolulu and New York City.

Ruth was introduced to her husband Walter through mutual friends at St. John's Lutheran Church in Denver. He was a general contractor living in Grand Junction where the couple lived following their marriage in 1950.

Ruth was a skier (up to the age of 70) and golfer, an avid bridge player, and CU Football Fan - she was a member of the Buffalo Belles.

Ruth was always a happy person and an inspiration to those whose lives she touched. Her Christian faith was her foundation.

Her family asks that in lieu of contributions, people simply remember Ruth's charitable and friendly spirit, and give to those they encounter who need a helping hand.
