Mrs. Ruth Sarah McFarland passed away in Broomfield, Colorado at the age of 95 on June 8, 2022. She was born in Frankfort, South Dakota on November 9, 1926 to parents John B. Wipf and Katherine M Kleinsasser. She attended school in Spink County and graduated from Doland High School in 1944.
Ruth was united in marriage to Orion Vern Montgomery from Huron, South Dakota on November 22-1947. From this marriage they had six children, Vern, Craig, Eric, Kaye, Kim and Marcia. Orion passed away in a Navy blimp accident on July 6, 1960. On May 13, 1963 she married Fred T. McFarland from Norfolk, Nebraska.
She is survived by her husband Fred, her three daughters, Kaye, Kim and Marcia, nine grandchildren, Cindy, Ellen, Amy, Mandy, Zach, Austin, Laura, Emily and Ernie, twelve great-grandchildren, Lauren Liam, Carson, Jared, Parker, Braden, Wyatt, Alexander, James, Ellie, Grace and Molly. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Orion, her nine siblings, Bertha, Ernest, Arthur, Albert, Ida, Elsworth, Viola, Warren and Clarence, and her three sons, Vern, Craig and Eric.
