(Robert) Ryan Joncas passed away unexpectedly on November 3, 2020 at Longs Peak Hospital in Longmont.  He was born April 4, 1984, in Boulder Colorado to loving parents Robert and Mary Joncas.  Ryan was educated in the St. Vrain Valley School District.  He played soccer and basketball in elementary and middle school, graduating from Longmont High School in 2002.  He then attended Front Range Community College in Longmont and Fort Collins.  Ryan went on to work in the restaurant business.  He worked the last 7-1/2 years at Red Robin Restaurant as a bartender/server, obtaining many employee of the month awards.  He enjoyed all sports, being a big fan of the Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets and Avs. He loved all outdoor activities, especially hiking in the mountains, kayaking, fishing, and boating; and parasailing in Hawaii as a teenager.  He was a gifted pianist and singer/songwriter.  He specially admired Chris Webby and Ryan Western, a dear friend. He had many, many cherished friends that he very much appreciated.  He was a sweet, kind, generous and supportive friend to all and will be greatly missed.  He was preceeded in death by his father Robert in 1998, favorite and only uncle Tom Roach, grandparents Charles and Myrtle Roach, great uncle and aunt Dr. Walt and Gene Dann and, all his childhood pets, especially his beloved dog Rocky.  He was a true animal lover.  Surviving relatives include mother Mary, stepfather Tim, beloved aunts Cheryl Bodin, Jeanie Kaleiki and Teri Roach, cousins Kristin Peet, Michelle Davis and Jason Roach, second cousins Brittney, Ashley, Camille and Charlotte.  A special thank you to the team of skilled and compassionate doctors and nurses in the intensive care unit at Longs Peak Hospital. A celebration of Ryan’s life is being planned for the spring.  We will keep you posted with additional information in the spring.
