Sallie Granger Daughtrey of Whispering Pines, NC passed away on April 14th, 2021. She was 80 years old. Sallie was born on February 25th, 1941 in Chester, PA to Robert and Sarah (Price) Granger. She had one sister (Lenore) and three brothers (Albert, Bob, and Bill). Sallie graduated from Pensacola High School in Pensacola, Florida and then graduated from Mary Washington College with a degree in Home Economics. On November 30, 1963 she married William Thomas Daughtrey.
They had two children, Bill and Clay. Sallie loved her boys and all of their activities. She made them her priority and put their interests in front of her own. Her husband Tom, her family and her many friends were her greatest joys in life. For many years she and her family lived in Medford, NJ where she was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church and Medford Lakes Country Club. Sallie and Tom retired to Whispering Pines, NC in 1999 where they became members of Emmanuel Episcopal Church and the Country Club of Whispering Pines. She was a member of the Daughters of the America Revolution and volunteered her time with the Sandhills Coalition, the local AARP chapter during tax season, and many other organizations. She also loved her dine-around, bunco, dominoes, golf and Red Hat groups. Sallie was an avid reader, wonderful cook and enjoyed sewing and needlepoint.
Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those around her. Sallie joins her beloved Tom in Heaven and is survived by her two sons Bill (Wendy) and Clay (Jill), and 6 grandchildren (Carlie, Tommy, Hannah, Jimmy, Rowan, and Leah).
