Sharron Baar passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2022. She was 81 years old. Sharron Lee Merta was born on March 26, 1941, in Wyandotte, Michigan to Frank and Helen Merta. She married Maynard John Baar on June 3, 1961, and they were married for 48 years until his death in 2009.
Sharron and Maynard moved to Colorado with their 4 children in 1972 to enjoy the mountains and new adventures and eventually moving to Pinewood Springs in 1975 and stayed for 47 years.
Sharron and her husband were successful business owners of a deli shop in Longmont for 5 years and then continued to own a video store in Lyons for 20 years. They worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their children. She was able to retire in 2007 and enjoyed time with her family. She would proudly boast about all 5 of her children, 8 grandchildren and her 4 great grandchildren. Sharron enjoyed singing in the choir at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and enjoyed many friendships.
Sharron is preceded in death of her husband Maynard John Baar in 2009, a young daughter Sherry Lee Baar in 1975 and parents, Frank and Helen Merta. She is survived by her 4 children, Karen (Gary) Gorman, Debbie (Ron) Richmond, Beverly Lutter, John (Kathy) Baar and 8 grandchildren, Shayne, Justin, Sherry, Stephanie, Josh, Tiffany, Aaron, and Luke and 4 great grandchildren, MacKenzie, Aspen, Graham and Alaina.
Her departure reminds us that angels are watching over us. Visitation will be held at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel on Monday, July 18th from 4:00 pm -6:00 pm with the Rosary at 6:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 10:00am on Tuesday, July 19th 2022.
